:: RADIO FUTURA & EDGAR ALLAN POE

Listen to the song in Spanish and read the poem in English at the same time. Nice translation!

Annabel Lee  (1849)

 It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
    In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love —
    I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
    Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
    In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
    My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
    And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
    In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
    Went envying her and me —
Yes! — that was the reason (as all men know,
    In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
    Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
    Of those who were older than we —
    Of many far wiser than we —
And neither the angels in heaven above,
    Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee:

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling — my darling — my life and my bride,
    In her sepulchre there by the sea,
    In her tomb by the sounding sea.

:: MINNIE RIPERTON - Les Fleurs

Will somebody wear me to the fair?
will a lady pin me in her hair?
will a child find me by a stream?
kiss my petals and weave me through a dream.
For all of these simple things and much more a flower was born
it blooms to spread love and joy faith and hope to people forlorn
Inside every man lives the seed of a flower
if he looks within he finds beauty and power
Ring all the bells sing and tell the people that be everywhere that the flower has come
light up the sky with your prayers of gladness and rejoice for the darkness is gone
throw off your fears let your heart beat freely at the sign that a new time is born

:: DANCE OF A THOUSAND MONKEYS

If you delay my turning upside down
I’ll give you a thousand little monkeys.
Russet tiles fly askew
Nailing goblins engulf my dreams,
Alas! Why do you say so?
For it’s my duty to love and be loved.
Language is my mask for life ‘s a festival.
Bleak gloom in this fated room
Where my spirit roses to unreach the essence of being.

:: NORMAL.DOT

From this grievous stance
I recall memories from the past
Somewhere we mustn’t go
Since it stirs the evil shadows of the ego
What is it that I deserve?
The moonish mood of my childhood
Temperamental fire alight in the emotions of a woman.
Is this common sense unattainable normality?
Unable to be framed, encaged, the poetess in me escapes enclosure.
I just do not care what you think
Since I speak for myself.
Not from selfishness, but
From the core of  what needs to be done.
Normality does not exist, don’t you realise?
Filter your eye through the sieve of thinking and
There you have it: just you, only you but you!
